Salaam Ameir,
Congrats on finally getting the app on iTunes.
Just some suggestions based on my experience with application so far.
1) Would be nice to jump right to the prayer times instead of waiting through the splash screen every time. I really like the graphics but it becomes (slightly) annoying to have to wait each time Guidance is launched.
2) Bug: If I click on the Setting tab and then click an item under setting (ie, Time Zone) and after making any adjustments, I again click Settings on the bottom, all I get is a white screen (this doesn’t happen every single time… rather, once in a while) The only way to correct this by restarting Guidance.
3) Would be nice to be able to zoom in/out of the Qibla Direction by pinching the screen (as with iPhone’s Map App). Also, would be nice to be able to switch to Satellite, Map, Hybrid views.
All in all though, it’s a great application and I really like it. Excellent work!

(add to #3)
- being able to drag the map around by sliding your finger (also similar to the Map app).

Umar,
Jazakallahu khairun for your comments. I will address them as much as I can.
1) The splash screen is not by choice actually. There is always going to be a delay when loading any application because of the limitations of the iPhone hardware. Apple recommends making the splash screen look like the app itself as much as possible so people dont notice the splash screen as much (see the weather or stock app), unfortunately because I allow themes I don’t know what their initial screen will look like and I am unable to modify my actual splash screen file itself, because that will break the code signing that allows the app to be installed in the first place.
2) Yes this is actually a known bug due to a small memory leak, I had hoped I had tracked down and stopped all leaks, but it appears as if one or two still remain, inshAllah this will be fixed in the next update.
3) The interaction with the map is definitely planned, it will take some work though, but is definitely something I am hoping to implement in Guidance inshallah.
Again thank you for your comments Umar, I always love it when people let me know how I can improve Guidance.

I love your Mac program and will definitely download this app…
Here is a recommendation that I found useful on another app I use to use. Have the icon have the time stamp of the next prayer time so you can quickly see it on the home screen of the iPhone, without having to open the program to see the next prayer time. That was very useful.
Also - Athan with individual volumes so you can vary diff volumes for diff times of the day, eg super loud at Fajr so you can wake yourself up, and pre-athan alarms so you can get a heads up just in case…
Thank you for your hard work!

Jay, those are great ideas. Definitely individual volumes for each adhan, that inshallah will be going into the next release. I will also look into the best way to utilize the badge feature.
Thanks for your comments, please keep them coming!

Ameir,
Initially the application was working fine. Now I have been experiencing that the iPhone hangs while prayer program is running. Plus the timing for the prayers is off from the area where I live. What can be done to fix this issue? For now, i am unable to use the program.
When you do add the feature of adhan to the application, will you be also adding the fajr adhan? Will the application have to be running for the adhan feature to work? I know this feature is also missing in the desktop version as well.
Please do advise.
Thanks

Tariq, I have emailed you regarding the hanging issue, hopefully I can diagnose the issue and include a fix in the upcoming update.
The next update will have the adhan features, including a fajr adhan, the ability to select a different alert (adhan, alarm or vibrate) for each prayer as well as a volume for each one.
Inshallah I hope to include a fajr adhan in the next release of the desktop version as well, as that will be when I finally let you choose a different adhan for each prayer. I’ve had enough people request this feature that I’ve decided to make it the next focus for the desktop version.
