I am pleased to announce the release of the Prayer Times iPhone Web App. Prayer Times allows you to view the prayer times for your current location in an iPhone friendly format. Simply go to
m.guidanceapp.com in your iPhone to make use of this web app. Rest Assured that this is not the iPhone version of Guidance, for that I am still waiting for the iPhone SDK. The iPhone version of Guidance will be a fully featured prayer times program with lots of features. I don’t want to say anything just yet, I want to see what exactly the SDK allows before making that announcement. Anyway, please use the Prayer Times web app in the meantime.

LOL … you know whats funny i was going to develop a prayer time program for the iPhone, i actually just paid the $100 for the SDK today. With the autolocation feature on the iPhone a great prayer program wont be too hard to port i imagine.
Well best of luck, i still may write by own just for knowledge sake but i am going to book mark this site and check back later to see what you reelase.

Yousef, InshAllah I will be releasing an iPhone app that can tell you the prayer times for your current location, the hard part will be figuring out how to get the adhan to play while the app is not running. Unfortunately there is no way to run background processes outside of an application.

Ameir, actually there will be a way, Apple has anounced that at WWDC, but it that feature won’t be released until much later as it is being developed right now. Expect it around September or October, but as a developer you may get your hands on it early and start working on it now. Insha’Allah the iPhone will be transformed into a device with a great possibility for future Islamic programs.

Luckily there is already a beautiful application already made called iAthan http://www.guidedways.com/mobile/ipray/download_ipray.php
But it’s for the jailbreak version, I sent an email to them to submit it to Apple so people can download it from the Apps store.

I use this web app, but I have an issue with it. When I change the method of Asr and Isha to 18 or 19 degrees, the web app displays “NaN:NaN AM.” It is also a problem in the application ‘Guidance.’ The application will crash when I change the method. Am I the only one? In the city where I live they use not the 15 degrees method, thus changing the method to 15 degrees is not a solution.
